So i did need to try the new firmware 2557.

The upgrade from 2504 was no problem, data is still available and also the settings.

Some new problems i spotted after the upgrade is:

FAN speed says 0 RPM all the time!
My USB attached disk now do appear twice in the GUI?
(After resume from Hibernation it seams to work, 2200 rpm on the fan and only one USB disk...)

Problems not corrected with this firmware (2557):

Externally attached eSATA and USB disks is still only available as single local LAN share!
You can't access those remotely, they do not appear in the Ajaxxplorer at all!

You can't initialize those disks from the GUI
You can't create volumes or folders on those disks from the WEB GUI
You can't set any group or user privileges on the eSATA and USB disks
You can't copy any files between the internal disks and the eSATA and USB disks
(Would be nice to have that option if you need to make a backup locally on the device.)
You can't change the eSATA and USB share names in use!

The eSATA and USB disks do not spindown, only the internal disks (sda / sdb)!
The log says: " [SET_HIBER] Hibernation ON [Time = 30] /dev/sda /dev/sdb"

So the current eSATA and USB support is very very limited!
And is not any option for expanding the LG NAS unit.

LG Please provide us an updated firmware solving al those issues!

I also update to 2557. Only I am unable to login as admin. If I try to enter my password, I keep getting the message 'Enter password'. If I type the wrong password on purpose, I get the message 'wrong password'. All my other usernames can still login. Every still works fine, but I'm unable to go to my system menus.

I've got the same problem. I guess, in my case the "equal" sign is the problem. Any password containing this sign returns "Enter password". This problem is new with 2557 and support says, reset to factory default is the only solution. But then your HDDs will become formatted too!!

Maybe there is a way to escape that "equal" sign in the password.
